County started among the promotion favourites but a mixed start saw Gannon’s men off the title pace. The Hatters put together a brilliant unbeaten run of 16 games between November and March, 42 from 48 points. A dramatic run-in had twists losing to Chorley, only for Chorley to lose to Spennymoor handing back the initiative. County won the title on the final day by a solitary point ending a six-year stay in the sixth tier.
